I hope you enjoy a visit through this collection of my artwork. “Paintings”- that’s a good word but it doesn’t really cover all the things I’ve been doing. The Sculpture-Paintings are 3-dimensional painted sculptures that draw in part on topographic mapping and my interest in Cubist works. ‘Conventional’ flat canvas paintings; portraits- people and pets, and landscapes.  Watercolors– including my latest endeavors with portraiture, a series I’m calling ‘High Anxiety/Can’t Sleep’, along with landscapes and details from daily life. Some Photographs, Objects I’ve made and a few Small Projects from my architectural career. Finally this is about my interest in making things.

People experienced with the business of art business often say that an artist should focus on and refine a narrow niche- create a style or signature for themselves. That sounds rational and makes sense and is evidenced by great artists everywhere. However much I believe in the value of experience and expertise, I suppose I’m still searching for that signature style. Professionally practical or not, I find I’m drawn to a wide variety of arts, techniques, ideas…..  More often than not, those disparate things seem to merge into a new and appealing avenue, and I’m off.
