Things that didn’t know they needed to be made
I’ve been making things all my life, long before I started calling some of it art. I love the problem solving, formulating, detailing, much of which I do in my minds eye without touching pencil to paper (although this to often happens in the middle of the night when sleeping would be a good thing.) And then, building these things- seeing my ideas take physical form.
Abstract constructed paintings
I will certainly be doing more of these in the near future!
Vermont House Addition
Architectural services for this addition to a historic family retreat. The owners wanted to keep the original house (behind the photographer) as the center of social life. They wanted to add bedrooms for visiting family and friend, and have lots of wall space to display their extensive art collection. So, they have a Museum/Bunkhouse!
8 West St Remodel
Architecture and much of the construction of our own home.
Joshua Tree House Addition
Architectural design for this house addition. Not dissimilar to the Vermont House Addition, the client had a property with 2 detached living structures, neither of which had what is considered a full complement of normal faciliities. And both were old, cobbled together over decades and not in great shape. But they had enormous character and sentimental importance to the family. Initially they envisioned some sort of connector/expansion building. After much discussion, design, re-design, and on, we ended up with a completely separate stand-alone new building to serve as the main living/social center, with the original buildings remaining as sleeping, retreat, quiet areas
